About The mobility service in english

The mobility service is a supplement to travel with SL.

Travel with SL includes buses, commuter trains and the Metro. The mobility service is for journeys that would otherwise be made with SL, such as outings to visit friends and trips to the theatre, but also other journeys such as travel to work and school.

Travelling with SL

Using your mobility service card (färdtjänstkort) you can travel throughout the county of Stockholm using both the mobility service and SL. Any journeys you are able to make with SL are free. You may also take along a travelling companion at no extra charge.

How to book mobility service journeys

You need to book in advance for any journeys using the mobility service. There are three different options for booking: by phone, through Mina Sidor (My Pages) online and using the "Talsvar" automated phone service. You can book a mobility service journey up to 28 days in advance. Journeys by taxi are booked according to fixed departure times. There are normally three departures per hour: ten past, half past and ten to the hour. The departure times may vary depending on where you are to be collected from.

Cancelling journeys

If you cannot travel, your journey must be cancelled. You can do this by phone, through Mina Sidor or using the "Talsvar" automated phone service. You must cancel your journey at least 30 minutes before the arranged collection time. It is not possible to cancel a journey any closer to the agreed collection time. If you do not cancel your journey in time one journey will be deducted from your balance.

You can make certain journeys without booking in advance

You can take a taxi on the street without ringing and booking in advance by using your mobility service card. The taxi must display a round mobility service sticker on one of its side windows. Tell the driver it's a mobility service journey and give him or her your mobility service card. You must also pay a special fee to the driver. The special fee is half the taximeter amount or a minimum of SEK 62.

Allow extra time for your journey

Your journeys may be combined. This means that you will sometimes travel with other passengers. A combined journey takes longer, since you and the other passengers will be collected and dropped off at different addresses. Remember also that your travel time will be affected by traffic in Stockholm. It is important to allow extra time for your journey. If your journey is a combined journey, you will be informed of this when you are collected.
